I saw a banner in the protest against reservations. It says "youth for equality". I wonder if this youth is 'for' the principal of 'equal opportunity'?

Remember my previous post about the cast based communities on 'orkut'?
Well the response to it was shocking, disheartening...there's is no place to say all this than this...

Here are the responses:

* 'Marathi' community on 'orkut' :

only one guy responded saying my friend, here everybody is cast-oriented, and that I won't get anyy backing....Couldn't judge if *he* was supporting me or opposing...
===========================

* 'Ratnagiri' community on 'orkut':

this is classic. One girl bent it to gender bias and bla bla...
Leter on I found that my post was removed....
afterwards, the moderator posted on the community that my topic was removed because many people were offended!!
This was most disheartening to me. Nobody showed courage to discuss/debate it.
===========================

I discussed this on chat with my younger cousin, one college friend, 1-2 collegues...

The cousin, fresh graduate, represented today's youth, she was totally confused. She said ppl wanted to support me, but kept mum. I don't think so. She couldn't explain her view.

Collegues as I knew were exactly thinking as I do..

a friend disguised as he supported my view. But said the orkut response should not be taken serously, ppl are there for fun.

which is what I admin for now. Though I have some 'reservations' ;)

oh 'reservations'!!!
why did I say that word?
ok next I'll tell what I think on this hot buring topic of India :d

This Object oriented design (and implementation)

I think OO methods are not the best thing for software design!

Listen! Listen!!
You have a problem. You designed it OO way perfectly. Implemented. Fine.
Now when it comes to change, there's hell lot of changes to be made. If you have to stick to the original philosophy of the design. It will take unacceptable long time, and you tend to compromise!

Why was this happening? Because the analogy of the design with real life (everything is an object and each has its characteristics) is NOT profitable for us.
The real life has evolved for millions of years, the species, the sub-species ...

Our objects are not evolved like that, and we want them to change/evolve faster :D

getting me?

This is my post to some of the 'orkut' communities I'd joined:

I have been looking at the orkut communities, off late.
To my surprise, I see communities like:
*cobra : koknastha brahmin
*aparant : --||--
*karhade brahmins
*GSB brahmins

God only knows (if he's on orkut, at all) what they do on these communities...

I appeal to all of my fellow marathi guys to un-join for all such communities!
I take it as offense, if sombody expects special treatment from me just because we two are of same cast!
I also think it's utter rubbish to stick some virtue or some bad habit to a community!

Come on, wake up my conuntrymen!
